Direct Action - Helping with saving lives, directly in the killing fields and surveying the killing areas. Individuals empowered to take action against the killing that is a total waste of lives and money!

Direct Action is a very empowering form of protest where an individual can physically act against something they feel strongly about in a non violent way. It is a long and honourable form of protest, used when other forms of protest are ignored or are not as effective in the short term (especially when saving a life when fast action is necessary).

Political and social history is chequered by reforms, many driven by indviduals or a group of individuals that come together and have used direct action as a focus for their protest. The slave trade would still be around in some form or other if the reformers had got their way and the same could be said about women's rights and other issues.

It may be argued that badgers are killed all the time by badger baiters and cars, etc. So why try to save them? The closest analogy to help us to explain our actions, is to ask you to try and imagine how you would feel if you witnessed another human deliberately being cruel against something smaller and weaker, perhaps tormenting a child or an animal? This is after all, what we believe is involved in scapegoating the badger and other wildlife. Wouldn't you want to try to stop them?

It could be argued that you could ask them or tell them to stop. But what happens when that request is denied? That it just goes on and on regardless of your protests?

The people that take up direct action are people from all walks of life who experience exactly this dilemma. People who know that they can and should do something more...

Remember you do have the power to change things...

Follow the links along the top & bottom sub menu to find out how you can get involved to save badgers and support CBAG, thank you!
